What is HVAC System?
This is the indoor technology with a goal to give thermal comfort; it is an important part of residential structures such as single-family homes, Hotels and etc.
It is safe because its conditions are regulated with respect to temperature and humidity using fresh air from outside.
The basic knowledge of HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning)system will help you be able to maintain your HVAC system properly, and if you do not own one yet, you will see why you need it.
Learning about your system allows you to prevent incontinent, expensive breakdowns, but keeping it working at its peak efficiency and make your home comfortable.
Purpose Of HVAC System
The HVAC system provides quality indoor air by conditioning the air in the occupied space of the building in order to provide comfort, diluting
and also removing contaminants from the indoor air through the ventilation process and finally providing proper pressurization in the building.
Since there are many different HVAC systems according to their designs. Generally, HVAC system share a few basic design elements, which
include the following
Outdoor / outside air intake
Air Handling Unit– a system where fans, heating and cooling coils, airflow control damper, air filters, etc.
Air distribution system(Mixing section) Air exhaust system.
HVAC System’s Function
The three major functions of heating, ventilating and air conditioning are interrelated, especially with the major need to provide thermal comfort
within the responsible installation, operation and maintenance costs.
Heating(H)
Heaters function is to generate heat. Heaters exist for various types of fuel, including solid fuels and gases. This is a part of housing furnace, and It warms cold air and absorbs heat.
This important component contains strong stainless steel with temperature resistant alloys that prevent damage such as cracks.
These heat exchange can also lead to carbon monoxide leakage, so it is advisable to have carbon detectors in your bedrooms and kitchen where you have a wood furnace.
This process can be done with central heating which containers boiler, furnace, and heat pump.
Ventilator(V)
Ventilation is a process of replacing or changing the air in any space to control the temperature. Ventilators include both the outside exchange of air and the circulation of air around and within the building using mechanical ventilation and natural ventilation.
Air Conditioning(AC)
An Air conditioning system is also known as a standalone air conditioner provides humidity and cooling for all parts of the building.
In the general system, in the outside (air intake) air is drawn into the building’s HVAC system by the Air Handling Unit (AHU).
Once the air is in the system, matters like dust, mold, and allergens are removed in air filters and then circulate throughout the building via the distribution system.
Some buildings have an air distribution system that includes air return the system, so that conditioned supply air is returned to Air Handling Unit, where the air is mixed with supply air, re-conditioned and re-filtered and supplied throughout the building.
Air-conditioned buildings have sealed windows because the system is intended to maintain constant indoor conditions and open windows would work against the system.
These are just the simple basic, which help you to understand how the system works. And since we always want to keep our HVAC system working at its peak and understanding the basics of this system will help us to do so.
Hello, I read your blog and your information about the HVAC system it’s really impressive and so much useful for me. Keep it up. Thank you very much:)
It’s helpful to know that ventilators circulate the air inside using air inside and outside. My partner and I need to get a new AC system this year because last summer it was way too hot. We don’t want that to happen again so we need to look for professional help.
I think the HVAC system is an indoor technology with a goal to give thermal comfort; it is an important part of residential structures such as single-family homes, Hotels and etc. Green Leaf Air is the pioneer in online HVAC systems and Air Duct system selling. They provide AC Maintenance & Repair Services and air duct cleaning services. They use genuine parts & components for AC repair and have a great team of professional technicians. Their services are good.
The information is very helpful. The three major functions of heating, ventilating and air conditioning are interrelated, especially with the major need to provide thermal comfort. Thanks.

The facts that have been discussed here are really important. Thank you so much for sharing a great post.
It’s great that you talked about an HVAC system is composed of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning. In my opinion, we must learn what’s an HVAC system, so we know how to take care of it. Plus, by understanding how they work, it’d be easier to know if they’re malfunctioning. I think you did a great job explaining how a heating system absorbs heat.
A good talk about an HVAC system consists of heating, ventilation, and aircon. I think we should know what an HVAC system is, so we know how to take care of it.
Good article with an excellent way of presentation. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing.
Great article! Speaking about furnaces, electric furnaces are the greener option due to their being powered by electricity, not gas.
